2. What is a synthetic gemstone?

Lab-grown stones can look flawless, with perfect colour and symmetry. They must be clearly labelled as lab-created, synthetic, or man-made in any certification.

3. What are imitation gemstones?
An imitation is a look-alike, often made of glass or low-value minerals, that resembles a gemstone in colour or brilliance but is not chemically related.

Imitations should be clearly identified and priced accordingly — but unfortunately, they're sometimes passed off as genuine stones to unknowing buyers.
4. How to tell the difference?
Without laboratory tools, it’s nearly impossible to distinguish natural from synthetic stones with the naked eye.
